What you need to know before your library visit…

We look forward to welcoming patrons back inside the building Monday, July 13.
Visitors should expect changes to regular services including mandatory face masks (anyone over the age of 2), directional signage and social distancing reminders, limited capacity and browsing, and increased cleaning protocols.

OUR PROMISE TO YOU

As we transition into our “new normal” and begin welcoming you back inside Sycamore Public Library, we commit to the following in an effort to minimize the risk to your health:

  • Staff will stay home if exhibiting any symptoms congruent with COVID-19
  • Staff will practice social distancing and wear masks that cover their noses and mouths
  • Staff will wash and sanitize their hands frequently
  • Staff will clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces frequently
  • Staff will quarantine returns before re-circulating them to other patrons

YOUR PROMISE TO US

In return, we ask you to make the following commitments to help keep staff—and your fellow patrons—safe:

  • You will refrain from entering the library if exhibiting symptoms congruent with COVID-19
    • You will practice social distancing and wear a mask (patrons age 2 and over) that covers your nose and mouth
      NOTE: If you are unable to wear a mask please let us know so we can make an accommodation for you.
    • You will follow directional markers and refrain from bringing reusable bags/backpacks into the building
      NOTE: If you cannot leave your possessions, please speak with library staff regarding other options
  • You will limit your browsing to an hour per day and place unwanted items in provided receptacles
  • You will limit your computer use to an hour per day

Returning Materials

ONLY drive-up book drops will be open. Please do not bring returns into the library. Donations will not be accepted at this time.

All materials will be quarantined for 3 days in compliance with recommendations from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).


Curbside Pickup

Curbside pickup is now a regular offering at the Sycamore Public Library! Place holds any time online or during business hours by phone. Call 815-895-2500 ext. 410 for placing holds and helpful reader’s advisory.

Guidelines

1) Each card may place up to 45 holds at one time.
2) Library staff will pull items, and notify you when items are available for pickup. Pickup hours are Monday-Saturday, 10:00 am-5:30 pm, Closed Sundays.
3) Park in a numbered spot when you arrive and call the number at your spot for pickup.


Programs and Meetings

As a preventative measure all program and meeting are being held online until further notice. Additionally, all meeting room reservations are suspended until further notice.
