Understanding End-of-Life MAID Legislation

Wednesday Dec 11th : Understanding End-of-Life MAID Legislation-Presented by Compassion & Choices 5:30pm 

Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) allows for a terminally ill, mentally capable adult with a prognosis of six months or less to request a prescription for medication to die peacefully. Authorized in ten states and the District of Columbia, MAID is being considered in Illinois. The presentation will review MAID principles, practices and safeguards in the US along with elements of the Illinois bill SB3499. A local volunteer from Compassion & Choices, an organization dedicated to improving care, expanding options and empowering everyone to chart their end-of-life journey, will present and lead discussion.
