Meet Rachel Carson: A Living Portrayal by Leslie Goddard
Celebrate Earth Day with Sycamore Public Library and Sycamore Park District as we invite actress and historian Leslie Goddard to portray famed Biologist and author Rachel Carson.
On April 13th at 6:30pm our evening will start with Sycamore Park District Naturalist, Nicholas McCarthy, highlighting Park District and community projects.
Then we are taken back to 1963 as we meet Rachel Carson at her Summer cottage in Maine.
Goddard portrays Carson as she discusses her childhood love for the living world, her passion for writing, and her work to awaken the world to the beauty and fragility of nature.
Leslie Goddard has been portraying famous women in history for more than ten years. In addition to both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in theater, she has a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and currently works full-time as a historical interpreter and public speaker.
