DeKalb Public Library Presents: Virtual Teen Choice Book Award Discussion, A Heart in a Body in the World by Deb Caletti
Sycamore Library is happy to share with you this community collaboration from DeKalb Public Library. Information below. For all questions about this program please contact samanthah@dkpl.org or call (815) 756-9568 ext. 1701.
The Lincoln Award: Illinois Teen Reader’s Choice and YALSA’S Teens’ Top Teen are two book awards in which teens choose the winners. Each month read one of these nominated titles and discuss if you think it’s worthy of an award.
Register for the discussion, then pick-up a free copy of the book, while supplies last, along with some goodies which our librarians have put together. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the virtual book discussion and notification that a free copy of the book is available to be picked-up during the next Curbside Pick-up hours.
Annabelle’s life wasn’t perfect, but it was full of friends, family, love. And a boy…whose attention Anabelle found flattering and unsettling all at once. Until that attention intensified. Now Annabelle is running. Running from the pain and the tragedy from the past year. With only Grandpa Ed and the journal she fills with words she can’t speak out loud, Annabelle runs from Seattle to Washington, DC, and toward a destination she doesn’t understand but is determined to reach. With every beat of her heart, every stride of her feet, Annabelle steps closer to healing—and the strength she discovers within herself to let love and hope back into her life.
Annabelle’s journey is the ultimate testament to the human heart, and how it goes on after being broken.
This free program is for teens, ages 13-17, or in grades 7th-12th, and is supported by The Friends of DeKalb Public Library. Registration is required.
Even if you miss your chance for a free copy, you can still participate in the discussion by checking out a library copy. Our librarians will contact you for your library card number, and checkout a library book or audiobook for you to pick up. Please indicate your choice, if contacted.
Click here to register. For additional program information or help with registration, please contact Susan at susang@dkpl.org or at (815) 756-9568 Ext. 3400.
