Life in a Japanese American Internment Camp
May 10, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Life in a Japanese American Internment Camp During WWII
Join Sycamore Library in hosting historian and librarian Sarah Okner, descendant of internees, as she shares photos and details of daily life in an internment camp, and the profound effects it had on those living there.
After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, all Japanese Americans living on the West Coast were forced from their homes and into incarceration camps in remote areas of the country. Among the over 120,000 Japanese Americans who were incarcerated, over two-thirds were American-born, many of whom were children.
Registration required on Eventbrite to receive the Zoom link for the May 10th 6:30pm virtual program.
