Body Language for the Job Interview:
Monday, August 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Is your body putting across the right message when you sit down for that important job interview?  Jim Zalud, a respected body language expert, will show you how to make all the right moves and land that job.  Join us on Monday, August 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for this important program.

How Have You Paid It Forward?:
As part of our One Community Reading Together program, the Library is asking you to tell us, in your own words, how you have paid it forward.  Inside the Two Books, One Community Reading Guide, available at the Library, you will find a card, asking how you paid it forward.  Write down your story on the card and turn it in at the Library and we will post it on our Wall of Giving to share with everyone.  Your entry can be anonymous.

Which Library Card is Best For You?:
May 2 - May 8
The Sycamore Public Library has made changes to the Circulation Policy regarding library cards so that you are in charge of who sees what, and we can make sure that we consistently offer you the level of privacy and confidentiality you desire.

We now offer three types of library cards; a family card, an adult personal card, and a child personal card. The family card allows all agreeing household members one library card number that is shared between family members. This means that you can pick up materials for any member listed on that family card. The adult and child personal card are for one individual only. The person listed on that card is the only person who can borrow materials on that card, and the only person who can pick up materials requested on that card.

For complete details about the three types of library cards follow the link. To read the newly revised Circulation Policy follow this link.

If you already have library cards and you want to merge into the new family card, we ask that you bring all existing library cards and family members to the library to make the change. Your cards need to be clear of fines and borrowed items. It takes a bit of time to make all of the necessary changes so we appreciate your patience while we get used to these new procedures.

Beginning June 1st, all existing cards that have not been changed, will be considered personal cards.
