Email Notification

When you provide your email address to the library, we will use it to send you notification about upcoming due dates for your borrowed materials, notices that items you requested are available to be picked up, notices that materials are past due, and for Sycamore Public Library surveys. The Sycamore Public Library will not share or sell your email address.

High School Textbooks

Is your backpack too heavy at the end of the day? Would it be nice if you could leave your school books behind and still be able to get your homework done? Now you can! The High School has provided the Sycamore Public Library with one copy of each class textbook. During regular library hours anyone may come in and use these books to read the assigned chapter or answer the assigned questions. The books are for in library use only, but you are welcome to copy needed pages if you prefer to work at home.

Notary

We now have four staff members available to notarize documents for our patrons. Notaries and are generally available during business hours Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. At this time there is no charge for this service. Please call (815) 895-2500 (ext. 26 or 11) in advance to verify that Larry, Haley, Jeannie, or Ashley is available to help with your notary needs.

Voters Registration

Many of the library staff are deputy voter registrars. All voter registrars will register DeKalb County residents who have never registered to vote in DeKalb County or have changed his/her name. Registrars can also complete an address change for anyone who has moved to a new residence within the county. You need to bring two pieces identification. One ID must include your photograph and at least one must have your correct address.
