Volunteer Opportunities At The Sycamore Public Library

You can meet new people and share your skills while helping your local public library!

The Sycamore Public Library has great opportunities for adult volunteers.  We currently have volunteer positions in the following areas:

  • Shelving books

  • Taking care of the library’s indoor plants
  • Cleaning the CDs and DVDs
  • Dusting shelves
  • Organizing and stocking the Book Sale shelf
  • Scanning historical documents
  • Keeping books in order
  • Detailing the Law Library
  • Supply inventory

To join our team, click on the application link below, print it, complete it and return it to the 2nd Floor Circulation Desk.

Volunteer Application

You can also share your skills by presenting a program!  The library has received many requests for How-To presentations, and some of these topics include:

  • Knitting lessons for children or teens

  • Healthy eating
  • Drawing and animation instruction

If you have any questions, you can contact Katie Davis, Volunteer Coordinator, at katied@sycamorelibrary.org or leave a message on her voicemail at 815-895-2500 ext. 33.
